Respect in Sport

This is a MANDATORY course for one parent or guardian of all athletes 19 years and younger

The Respect in Sport parent program takes approximately one hour to complete and does not have to be completed in one sitting.

The course costs $12 plus applicable taxes and is valid for four years. You may use an existing RIS certification number you have received one through another sport such as hockey or soccer, provided that it is still valid.

Registration for youth athletes CANNOT be completed without your certification number.

How To Register

Select Alberta Rugby from the dropdown, and scroll to find the Club with which you want to register. Registration is online only, and payment is by credit card.

Before you step onto the pitch for games or for training, you MUST be registered in the current season. Registration is valid from date of purchase until April 30 of the following year.
(unless it’s temporary registration, in which case it’s valid for the time period specified).

Navigate to Rugby Canada and choose Alberta. Scroll to find the Club with which you want to register. Registration is online only, and payment is by credit card.

For full season membership – registration is valid from date of purchase until April 30 of the following year.

Temporary registrations (72hr, 2wks) are valid from the date of purchase for the time period specified.

Registration Cut Off

To qualify for playoffs, a player must have played a minimum of:

4 games (senior)
2 games (junior)

The cut-off is reached by counting backwards from the date of the participating team’s last game.

Refunds

Registrants can request a refund:

within 15 days of their registration date (which is processed automatically).
outside the 15-day window (which is subject to approval).

Temporary Memberships

A player may purchase one temporary membership only per season.

Temporary memberships can be upgraded to full-year.

Upgrades

The upgrade process allows members to add another category or role to their current season’s membership. Fees you’ve already paid will be credited.

How to upgrade a Membership

The Edmonton Rugby Union is located within the territories of Treaty 6, 7, and 8 as well as the Métis settlements and six regions of the Métis nation of Alberta within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We acknowledge and are grateful that rugby throughout all of the Edmonton Rugby Union happens on the traditional meeting grounds, gathering places, and travelling routes of the Nehiyawak, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Saulteaux, Niitsitapi, Tsuu Tina, and Iyarhe Nakoda (Stoney Nakoda). We honour and thank all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who have lived, played, gathered, and whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries past and will forever more.
