New Registration Platform Launch!
PlayHQ Is Coming Soon!
Rugby Canada is officially launching its new national membership and registration platform: PlayHQ. It’s been built specifically for Canadian rugby and will soon become the home for registration, sanctioning, and competition management. It’s a big step forward for all of us, and we’re excited to get started.
You can find FAQs, training details, and onboarding resources on the PlayHQ Information Site.
What You Need to Know
We’re all in this together
Alberta Rugby, the ERU, the CRU, and all member clubs across the province are getting information and system access at the same time. We’re all figuring it out together, step by step.
Please jump into the training sessions, ask questions, and share what you learn with your fellow clubs. The timeline is tight, and there will be a learning curve, but no one is doing this alone.

These sessions will give you the baseline you need, even while some club features are still being built in the background. It’s completely normal to leave with questions. ERU and Alberta Rugby will keep everyone updated as we receive more information.
FYI sessions are 1 – 2 hours, with multiple dates available over the next few months. Rugby Canada’s implementation team is working closely with PlayHQ to make this transition as smooth as possible.
December is a tight window … but there’s no need to stress
If the live sessions don’t work with your schedule, you can still register and receive the recording to watch when it suits you. Plus, more training opportunities are coming in the new year.
ERU Timeline
We’re working toward opening membership and club registration by January 1, 2026.
Important! Clubs must have their Board of Directors insurance paid with Rugby Alberta before they gain full access to their club portal.
