18:30 Druids Green @ St Albert [ERU U18 W]

  • Status:  Postponed. Rescheduled to 26 July 2024

DECISION TREE FOR MATCHES AFFECTED BY INCLEMENT AIR QUALITY

Where possible match decisions will be made 24hrs in advance for travelling matches or at 13:00 for local matches. If this is not possible, teams are to show up expecting to play and are to consult with the match official prior to kick off to determine how/if the match will be played.

1. Navigate to https://airquality.alberta.ca/map/ for the most accurate information

2. Make a decision based on the Air Quality rating. Decision tree below:

5 or lower ✅

  • Matches & Training to continue as normal

6 – 7 ⚠️

  • Training reduced intensity & duration, provide additional testing periods (e.g. play quarters, having walking training sessions, teams to consider rescheduling matches and consult with ERU)
  • SENIOR Matches reduced to 70 minutes, played in increments of 17.5min quarters
  • JUNIOR Matches reduced to 60 minutes, played in increments of 15min quarters

8 ⛔️

Match officials and coaches are to arrive ready to play and meet prior to kick off and review the most current AQHI rating. If the AQ remains at 8+ the match is delayed by 30min, after this  if there is no change the match is to be rescheduled. If the air quality changes dramatically during the game, the match will be rescheduled if less than 75% of the match has been played.

  • Training held indoors or cancelled
  • Senior & Junior matches AQ to be reviewed at kick off and the status of the match will follow the above decision tree

9+ 🛑 All training and matches cancelled

The Edmonton Rugby Union is located within the territories of Treaty 6, 7, and 8 as well as the Métis settlements and six regions of the Métis nation of Alberta within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We acknowledge and are grateful that rugby throughout all of the Edmonton Rugby Union happens on the traditional meeting grounds, gathering places, and travelling routes of the Nehiyawak, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Saulteaux, Niitsitapi, Tsuu Tina, and Iyarhe Nakoda (Stoney Nakoda). We honour and thank all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who have lived, played, gathered, and whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries past and will forever more.
