Questions can be directed to the ERU Junior Coordinator: Jo Hull - Jo.hull@yahoo.co.uk

The completed AJRA Application for Dispensation form must arrive at the ERU (fax 780-401-3451 and emailed to Jo.hull@yahoo.co.uk) and be signed off before any minor player plays up an age grade, regardless of the category they registered online for.

Girls Age Grade Clarification for 2013

The girls will play under the following age bands:

  • U14 (12,13,14) - there will be some 'older' 11yr olds in this category
  • U16 (14,15,16)
  • U17/19 (17,18,19)

The IRB state that players can not play within more than a 3yr age band; within the current set up in Edmonton that means the 15yr old players are unable to play until they are 16yrs of age (due to the U17/19 league set up). The new age bands will ensure all girls can participate with their peers and the IRB recommendations are followed.

High School Player Eligibility

According to ASAA (Alberta School's Athletic Association) policy, the high school rugby season finishes after the provincial finals take place, this year on Saturday June 8th. After this point all players are eligible to ‘play’ for a club.

During the season the policy states that a student must not ‘play’ for a non-school team from March 15th through to the conclusion of the teams involvement in the ASAA provincial finals. There is no policy that states a player cannot ‘practice’ with a non-school team during this time.
